Process
A horizontal sequence from first site visit to final styling day for heritage apartments in Galway.
Five stages on one sheet
Survey
We measure rooms, door swings, and stair turns on site at your Galway address or from drawings you supply.
Brief
Budget, must-keep pieces, and daily routines are written into a one-page brief shared with both principals.
Draw
Floor-flow overlays and a furniture shortlist land on titled sheets coded to your apartment.
Specify
Colour pots, textiles, and hardware schedules go out for order with lead times noted in weeks.
Place
On styling day we place, adjust clearances, and leave a care note for damp and salt exposure.
Most two-bed apartments move through all five stages in six to ten weeks, depending on supplier queues across Ireland.
What you prepare before stage one
A rough floor sketch with room names, photographs in daylight, and a list of pieces you refuse to lose saves an hour on the first visit. Keys for shared stair cores help when we need to check delivery clearances.
If you rent, bring landlord constraints in writing so curtain fixings and paint changes stay inside the lease.
How decisions are recorded
Each stage closes with a dated sheet: survey notes, brief, plan overlay, specification list, or placement checklist. You keep digital copies; we archive paper at Shop Street for two years.
Changes after specification may shift costs—we flag that before any reorder so budgets stay visible.
Site days versus studio days
Survey and placement happen in your apartment. Brief refinement and drawing happen at 14 Shop Street unless mobility needs require another arrangement.
Salthill clients sometimes prefer a second light check at dusk; we schedule that inside the survey fee when requested early.
Working with your trades
We coordinate with painters and joiners you already trust, issuing finish notes rather than replacing their contracts. If you need introductions, we share local contacts who understand lime plaster and period skirtings.
Structural changes and protected-structure consents sit outside our styling scope; we pause and refer when a wall removal is proposed.
Aftercare window
For thirty days after placement you may email questions about care, fade, or small swaps. A follow-up visit inside Galway city is €120; outside the city boundary we add travel at cost.
Larger redesigns later start a new brief rather than stretching the original five-stage sheet.
